UltraView DEL™

UltraView DEL (Dry Eye Laser) is a unique and established technique that treats the underlying causes of dry eyes using a specialized laser with the following advantages:

1. Effective: Several studies have demonstrated that intense pulsed light therapy to the eyelid area indeed attenuates the signs and symptoms of dry eye.

2. Safe: Using a hand held device, the surgery team will gently and safely treat your eyelids, without harm to your eyeball or vision. The treatment is quick and there is no downtime.

3. Natural: By improving the structure and function of the meibomian gland - UltraView DEL allows the increase of your own natural lipid layer and tear film.

What causes Dry Eye?

Abnormal or deficient tear quality and/or quantity can cause dry eye. Tears are made up of 3 layers: lipid, aqueous, and mucin. The meibomian gland in the eyelid produces the lipid layer - and its function decreases as we age. In addition to this there are many other causes that may further aggravate dry eye (eg. surgery, medication, hormonal change, medical diseases etc.)
